Ollipekka's thoughts on his working methods.
”When the light disappears and all that is left of the scenery is fleeting blue, or should I say: blues.
The grayness consumes the light as do shadows for the colors. Water rises, water pulls away. Autumn falls and the light fades.
I walk along the beaches, wander in the brushwood. Erosion, scuff, splash and entropy are friends to my paintings. If you so wish, you can see the landscape. My works are muted observations and wary signs on climate change and the state of the Baltic Sea.”
“I paint a lot without brush. Painting is a pleasurable exercise for me in which colours and materials are intrinsic. Mixed technique works that are created layer by layer may become finished in hours or in years. Gold, rust and the hues of blue have become very dear to me. Abstract form is inspired by encounters with the nature.”
