Collection: Art by Kimmo Ojanen

Kimmo Ojanen is a Carpenter and Artist who puts recycled and sustainable wood materials into beautiful use in his artworks. The materials he chooses to use celebrate ecological and respectful approach for the nature. For example, he utilizes trees trees fallen over during a storm or high wind.

”I’m a craft artisan from Ylöjärvi, Finland. I use wood as my material and aspire to create something modern with it. Characteristic to my work is utilizing the natural and puzzle-like texture and structure of the wood, telling a story with each piece of it. The variable surface lives by daylight accentuating or fading different parts of the pieces depending how the light touches the surface. To me it is important to use recycled materials – excess wood, wood that has untold stories still within."

About the Collection Broken Forest: 
"With the pieces of this collection, I’ve used recycled plywood, excess wood and the shavings that have been created by working on the wood.”
